Bonifacio Global City (BGC), is becoming the preferred residential area for many top executives and industry leaders, according to an executive of Filinvest Development Corp. (FDC).
With traffic in Metro Manila still an unsolved problem, the option to live a few minutes from where one works has become an attraction for the high-end market, said Catherine Ilagan, executive vice president of Filinvest Alabang Inc., The BeauFort project developer.
FDC is the developer of The Beaufort, a low-density 271-unit development that consists of two towers and is one of the few BGC units now ready for occupancy.
The BeauFort was FDC’s response to the strong demand for top end units following the office construction boom in BGC, Ilagan said. In 2013, BGC accounted for close to 40 per cent of office space leased; McKinley Hill was second at 20 per cent; and Quezon City at 12 per cent in third place, according to industry studies.
BGC also accounted for 46 per cent of supply pre-commitments as of end 2013, or space taken up by a tenant even before the completion of an office space, among the country’s business districts.
“In addition to location, we attribute the strong take up of The Beaufort units to the great views of both the Manila Golf and Makati skyline,” Ilagan said.
